Meet the operator at the confirmed departure point. Complete the required registration and safety checks, and confirm that you meet the operator's age, health, fitness and other participation requirements.

Receive instructions from the rafting team covering paddling commands, river safety, emergency procedures and group coordination. Fit the safety equipment supplied by the operator.

Follow the operator's arrangements for accessing the river. Depending on the route and operating plan, reaching the launch point or returning from the gorge may involve steep paths, hiking or other physical exertion.

Raft the designated river section under the direction of the rafting team. The rapids attempted and the exact route depend on water levels, conditions, the operator's plan and the group's suitability.

Complete the operator's river exit and return arrangements. The return may involve an uphill walk or climb, depending on the route and conditions. Allow sufficient time for the full excursion rather than only the time spent on the water.
