About This Experience
About Mana Pools Walking & Canoe Safari
Experience the wild beauty of Mana Pools National Park through an immersive walking safari, a canoe excursion on the Zambezi River, or a combination of both. Explore the park's remarkable floodplains and riverine woodland on foot with a qualified professional guide, learning to interpret animal tracks, birdlife and the surrounding ecosystem. Alternatively, paddle along the Zambezi and experience the wilderness from the water, with opportunities to observe birds and wildlife from a safe distance. Multi-day canoe safaris may include remote riverside camps, meals and specialist equipment, depending on the selected operator and package. This is a specialist wilderness experience requiring careful planning, suitable conditions and adherence to all park and operator safety procedures. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.

Itinerary
Your experience
1
Meet the confirmed safari guide at the agreed camp or departure point. Review the day's plan, weather and environmental conditions, safety procedures and equipment requirements. Walking and canoe activities follow their respective operator-approved arrangements.
2
For the walking option, explore an agreed route with a qualified professional guide. Learn to read tracks, recognise signs of wildlife and understand the ecology of the floodplain while maintaining appropriate distances from animals.
3
For the canoe option, receive paddling and water-safety instructions before setting out with the confirmed operator. Follow the skipper or guide's route and instructions, observing wildlife only from distances considered safe.
4
Pause at an operator-approved location for rest and refreshments when included in the selected package. Multi-day expeditions follow the operator's planned camps and meal schedule.
5
Depending on the selected duration, continue the walk or canoe excursion, return to camp or proceed to the next confirmed overnight stop. The schedule may change due to weather, wildlife, river conditions or safety decisions.
